Oscar Winning Screenwriter & Creator of Downton Abbey, Lord Julian Fellowes, to host Cinemagic Q&A

Lord Julian Fellowes, Oscar-winning screenwriter and creator of multi-award winning ITV period drama, Downton Abbey, will host a Q&A at Cinemagic Belfast on Friday 21st March in The Grand Opera House.

The Cinemagic Film and Television Festival event, hosted by UTV’s Marc Mallet, is part of Creativity Month, an initiative of the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL), which features a month-long programme of events, workshops and conferences to showcase the creative industries and profile innovative approaches to tackling social and economic challenges.

Over five hundred young people from schools, community groups and Cinemagic film projects, will have the unique opportunity to ask questions and hear from Cinemagic patron, Julian Fellowes, about his distinguished career in film and television.

Audience members will also find out about Cinemagic’s 2014 plans including a new ground-breaking project, just one in a series of high profile initiatives to mark the beginning of Cinemagic’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Cinemagic Chief Executive, Joan Burney Keatings, MBE, said “We are honoured to be able to welcome our patron, Lord Julian Fellowes, back to Cinemagic to host an exclusive Q&A for hundreds of young people from across the region. With a career spanning acting, writing and producing, Julian has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share and he will inspire, motivate and educate the young people that attend. We are delighted to be able to deliver the event as part of Creativity Month, highlighting the importance and value of the creative industries and encouraging young people to develop their creative talents.”

The event takes place from 11.00am-12.30pm on Friday 21st March in The Grand Opera House, Belfast. Places are free of charge but must be reserved by emailing Rachel@cinemagic.org.uk
