Trainee Production Crew Call for Short Film Academy supported by Creative Skillset.

Cinemagic has launched its search for a young film production crew for the Cinemagic Short Film Academy supported by Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund.

The short film will be made by young people under the guidance of industry professionals. Budding filmmakers, aged 18-25, will have the chance to develop their talents and earn their credit on the local production film being made in Northern Ireland in November 2016.
Cinemagic ran this programme for the first time in January 2016 and produced the award-winning short film DELICATE THINGS which was screened in Los Angeles, Newport Beach Film Festival, Galway Film Festival and will screen at the Cork Film Festival in November 2016. A number of the young filmmakers involved also go the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles in March 2016 as Cinemagic Ambassadors where they got the opportunity showcase their film and to attend festival events in top studios and organisations such as HBO, Fox, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, New York Film Academy and Warner Brothers to name but a few.

Cinemagic is looking for committed, talented and creative young people who will gain unprecedented access to industry professionals and prior to making the short film; the successful applicants will participate in a compulsory programme of intensive and practical training through masterclasses and workshops led by the professional mentors. Please note the Fee for this course is £150.
The opportunity will provide the young filmmakers with an invaluable insight to all aspects of filmmaking and the essential skills required in each area. The young people will be assigned individual roles on the film crew and must ensure that they are available on the following dates:

Tuesday 18th October 6pm – 9pm
Wednesday 19th October 6pm – 9pm
Tuesday 25th October 4pm – 6pm
Wednesday 26th October 2pm – 5pm
Friday 28th October 10am – 4pm
7th – 18th November(Various days for Preproduction TBC)
Monday 21st – 26th November (Inclusive) – ALL DAY

How to apply: All training and filming will take place across Northern Ireland. Young people are expected to make their own way to and from training and filming each day. No previous experience necessary. You need to be between the ages of 18 and 25 when applying. You must be able to commit to the programme for its duration.
