Cinemagic International Film camp

July 2012

Cinemagic International Film Camp is an annual residential film project for young 20 people aged 16-19 from Northern Ireland, Republic and the USA. The young people have the unique opportunity to produce a short film from script to screen, under the guidance of industry professionals in just 5 days

Nikkii Bui Thi, Film Camp participant

I loved every second of Cinemagic International Film Camp experience. Not only did I learn a lot about filmmaking, I also made life-long friends. I felt so welcome and accepted. I would like to thank the leaders for being so pleasant, helpful and for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.

The participants of Cinemagic International Film Camp learn practical filmmaking skills and the mechanics of how films are developed, but they also have the opportunity to work with people from different cultural backgrounds and this helps develop their inter-personal skills as a deeper and new understanding of cultural difference. Cinemagic is dedicated to providing film and television opportunities for young people from different communities in Northern Ireland, and beyond, to engage with and learn from each other’s cultural experiences as part of a creative venture. The interactive teamwork within a diverse cultural setting contributes to a greater respect and understanding of difference and reflects the values of tolerance and social inclusion.
